Traffic Department seeks to improve services─── 11:20 Sat, 01 Apr 2017
Bloemfontein - The Free State Department of Police, Roads, and Transport says it is to extend working hours at various testing stations in the province to improve service delivery.
This is according to the department’s spokesperson, Hillary Mophethe. Mophethe says various stations across the province will be opened on Saturdays to accommodate people who cannot access their services during weekdays.
This comes amidst an increased number of traffic speeding fines, and taxis allegedly operating without valid permits.
Mophethe says they are dealing with issues of limited service delivery and urges people to make use of the department’s extended working hours to access services.
She says they have acknowledged that they are encountering problems with the internal processing systems they use, and this often hinders adequate service delivery.
Mophethe adds extending working hours will greatly assist in this regard. She says from today onward normal services rendered during the week will also be offered on Saturdays.
She, however, mentions that the stations will be opened one Saturday per month from 8am to 1pm.
