Bloemfontein - Free State Police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, says they haven’t made any arrests regarding the five storey warehouse that went up in flames yesterday in Bloemfontein’s CBD.

Marope says they are currently busy with investigations and can only reveal all their findings once the investigation has been completed. A case of arson has been opened.

The owner of the five storey warehouse, Savvas Kyriacou (73), says more than a million rand’s damage was caused to his property when it caught fire in the early hours of the morning.

Meanwhile, members of the Mangaung Fire and Rescue Service will today return to the warehouse.

Braam van Zyl says they will finally extinguish the blaze, which is still smouldering, and assess the damage caused.
