Nurses march averted by Free State Health Department─── OWEN KOCK 05:48 Tue, 10 Feb 2015
Bloemfontein - A planned protest march by unemployed nurses to Bophelo House in Bloemfontein was averted by the Free State Department of Health on Monday.
Department spokesperson Mondli Mvambi says the students, some of whom have already completed their studies, gathered at the Free State School of Nursing ahead of the protest.
Mvambi says the nurses incorrectly thought that they would automatically qualify for jobs once they had complete their studies.
He however says they have to be registered with the appropriate council.
