Bloemfontein - A nurse from Mediclinic in Bloemfontein was awarded the Bio-Oil Florence Nightingale provincial award for excellence.
Carol West, a senior sister in a general ward, was awarded this prize this morning.
West has been working at Mediclinic for almost 20 years on and off.
The Awards celebrate nurses who, like Florence Nightingale, show compassion, sensitivity and quality care for all.
West says she was overwhelmed, very honoured and proud receiving this award.
Sunday 12 May is International Nurses’ Day, celebrated each year on the birthday of the legendary Florence Nightingale.
On this day nurses around the world are acknowledged for their selfless contribution towards keeping communities healthy.
