“This tournament is very special to me and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of our home fans and joining my fellow South Africans in hopefully claiming a home victory.”
South Africa’s leading golfer Thriston Lawrence has confirmed he will be competing in the Nedbank Golf Challenge next month.
Lawrence is the latest local player to confirm he will be teeing it up at ‘Africa Major’s’ at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City.
He joins the two Olympians, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Erik van Rooyen, as the three of the highest ranked South Africans to compete. The Sunshine Tour’s Order of Merit winner, Ryan van Velzen, is another exciting addition to the field and will be making his debut in this iconic event.

In addition, the two exciting youngsters, Robin Williams and Aldrich Potgieter confirmed their participation earlier in the week.
“My form has been good this year,’ said Lawrence. “To reach the top 50 in the world has been a goal of mine for the past three years, and I feel like things are trending in the right direction.
“A place in the Nedbank Golf Challenge is always a good indication of this, especially this year with the field as strong as it is.”
