Knights brimming with confidence ahead of Boland challenge─── MORGAN PIEK 09:37 Mon, 24 Feb 2025

The Knights are brimming with confidence ahead of their CSA One-Day Cup clash against Boland in Bloemfontein, and while there is a long way to go, they now do believe they have what it takes to go all the way.
On Saturday, the Knights ended their winless streak at home with a commanding 157-run victory over defending champions, Western Province.
They were clinical in every aspect of the game, thrashing a Cape Town side that featured no fewer than six Proteas.
Boland, however, will be a tough opponent and are currently the team to beat, having won three matches on the trot in the competition.

So far, Boland have secured a five-wicket win against the Titans at Boland Park, a six-wicket victory over the Dolphins at home, and a three-wicket triumph against the Warriors at St George’s Park.
Knights batter Dian Forrester is the tournament’s leading run-scorer, with innings of 21 (Dragons), 123* (Warriors), and 113* (Western Province) in three matches, boasting an average of 257.
Forrester, who struck his second consecutive unbeaten century for the Knights on Saturday, told OFM Sport that the team has what it takes to go all the way.
“Yes, I think this game against Western Province was an amazing one for the team,” said the all-rounder. “The batting, the bowling – everything just came together nicely. The team is gelling really well, both on and off the field.
“We all have the same goal in mind – we want to win the trophy, and this game gave us a lot of confidence, especially playing against a team packed with Proteas.
“The guys were exceptional with the ball – when the moment called for it, they stepped up. So, we’re feeling confident heading into this next game against Boland. We just have to go out there, stick to the basics, and be the better team on the day.

“I truly believe we can go all the way. The belief is there; now we just need to go out and prove it. I’m really excited for the games ahead.”
Wednesday’s match between the Knights and unbeaten Boland at the Mangaung Oval is set to start at 13:00.
