Siboto said as senior players they need to find ways to get out of trouble, find ways to create pressure and find ways to take wickets.

The seam bowler Malusi Siboto is back at the Knights after an eight-year absence.

The 37-year-old seamer left the Knights in 2016 to join the Titans for a season before linking up with the Lions. The player is back at the Free State on a pay-per-play contract and one of his biggest roles will be to guide the young team during their return to Division 1.

Siboto told OFM Sport that he looks forward to playing more of senior role in the team.

“It’s good to have old hands like myself and Dane Piedt – it makes it easier when the pressure is on to just keep communicating,” he said.

Siboto said as senior players they need to find ways to get out of trouble, find ways to create pressure and find ways to take wickets.

“We also want guys to think for themselves and not rely on senior players too much. So I think it’s just finding that balance. We have two home games first, which has worked out well for us and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.”

On Saturday the Knights will get their 2024/25 season underway in Bloemfontein when they face the North West Dragons in the CSA T20 Challenge.
