The Proteas are inspired by the Springboks’ success ahead of their important Cricket World Cup clash against New Zealand tomorrow in Pune.
The Proteas are targeting a first win over the Black Caps at the World Cup since 1999.
A win for South Africa will almost guarantee them a spot in the semi-finals, but a defeat can open the door for some other teams.
Unlike the Springboks, the Proteas have never managed to win the World Cup.
The Proteas coach, Rob Walter, said the Springboks winning the World Cup certainly serves as motivation.
“We were all together for the game - the boys love their rugby. It was awesome to share that moment together,” said Walter.
“It's all been said about the Springboks before, they continue to inspire.
“They give hope to South Africans and to us as a team. To see what they've done and the levels they've reached. It's an inspiration for us.”
Tomorrow’s game between the Proteas and Black Caps in Pune is scheduled to start at 10:30.
