The opening batter will link up with the Bloemfontein-based team again after having played his cricket at the Warriors and Titans with great success in recent years.

It is confirmed that Cloete will be the gloveman this coming season after the Knights lost the services of both Wandile Makwetu and Mangaliso Mosehle. Both players have called it a day on their playing careers.

Cloete is one of four new players signed by the Knights for the upcoming season along with Aubrey Swanepoel will bring a lot of experience to the side.

Cloete told OFM Sport that he looks forward to sharing his hard-earned wisdom at the Knights.

“I'm defiantly looking forward to putting some input from my performances into the team and getting back with the guys.

“I know the guys from playing with them and against them. They are always a good bunch of guys and I am thankful for what they have done for me in the past and what they have done for me now.

“It's shows that there is a little bit of loyalty and now I am returning the favour.”

The other new players at the Knights are the opening batter, Isaac Dikgale, and the seamer, Nipho Mpungose.
