“We will be calling the Office of the Premier to ask how far those matters are.”

The North West Provincial Legislature Committee chairperson said his committee planned to summon the acting premier and all executive committee members council before the committee.

Chairperson of Cooperative and Finance Committee Aaron Motsoana told OFM News the committee sought to call MECs and Premier Nono Maloyi. They wanted the premier and his team to explain why some of the House resolutions and recommendations of the Public Service Commission (PSC) were never implemented after being tabled in 2019.

The standing committee of the North West Provincial Legislature yesterday convened a meeting with the Public Service Commission and with the Office of the Premier to table progress made about the implementation of House resolutions and PSC recommendations against various provincial  departments.

“The meeting couldn’t take place because of the absence of the premier and the acting PSC commissioner who was abroad for work. The committee then felt there hasn’t been progress made about the implementation,” Motsoana said.

OFM News previously reported the committee had planned to summon Moloyi's office to appear before it owing to a string of fraud and corruption accusations and cases across departments and municipalities.

Motsoana said the premier failed to appear before the committee on Tuesday ( 24/10) as planned. He said they have since concluded that resolutions previously taken in the house were not implemented and they would be questioning Maloyi and his MECs on why they failed to implement it.

Meanwhile, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) Chairperson Job Dliso, previously told OFM News that the committee had planned to summon Moloyi's office.

SCOPA chairperson Dliso said they have seen several investigations in the province, including forensic investigations from the Office of the Premier, and those cases take longer. “We will be calling the Office of the Premier to ask how far those matters are.”
