Drugs found in couch worth R1.2 million─── ZENANDE MPAME 12:44 Thu, 27 Jul 2023
A narcotics team in the Free State received a tip on Wednesday (26/7) that drugs were being stashed in one of the apartments owned by a well-known foreign national in Odendaalsrus.
An operation was conducted by the Welkom Narcotics team and the K9 unit at a flat at Waterkant Street. Upon arrival the members found the flat abandoned. A search was conducted and various types of drugs were found in the couch.

584 grams of Crystal Meth; 1,780 kg of CAT; 2,278 kg of Butterscotch CAT; 872 grams of Mixed CAT; and 48 grams of Cocaine bullets were found. The drugs have an estimated street value of R1 297 000.

The search for the foreign national continues as he is on the run and the drugs have been kept by the police as evidence.
