Prisoners re-arrested after escaping from Free State Correctional facility─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 07:18 Thu, 06 Apr 2023
Residents of Brandfort in Free State assisted police in re-arresting two prisoners who escaped from the Brandfort Correctional Facility Centre.
Police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng says the prisoners - Sipho Ndlondlo and Moeketsi Majola- are both serving separate sentences for house breaking and theft.
A case of escaping from lawful custody has been registered.
The two escapees were re-arrested after residents provided police with information to their whereabouts.
According to Thakeng they were hiding at Marantha section in Majwemasweu, Brandfort.
The men will be charged today for escaping from lawful custody and will appear before Brandfort magistrates soon.
