NW government calls for calm amid planned EFF shutdown─── 11:09 Sun, 19 Mar 2023
The North West provincial government is calling on communities to remind calm, amid the planned shutdown by Economic Freedom Fighters tomorrow.
North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari, has appeal to residents and motorist to be cautious and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Lehari says members of the South African Police Service will be on high alert to ensure the safety of residents until Tuesday.

Speaking to OFM News, EFF North West secretary Papiki Babuile said they have engaged stakeholders to join them tomorrow, and the support is good - however he says they aren't encouraging unruly behaviour.

The Democratic Alliance leader in the North West, Leon Basson, meanwhile said they will monitor developments closely and will help both government and the police to uphold basic human rights, safety, and security.
