Calls for justice mount after teen's body found in shallow grave─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:15 Sun, 12 Mar 2023
The mayor of the Makapanstad-based Moretele Local Municipality in the Bojanala district in North West has called for justice to be served after a 23-year-old man was arrested for the murder of a teenage girl.
Karabo Monyama (23) from Cyferskuil near Makapanstad went missing on 5 March 2023. She was later found buried in a shallow grave, allegedly by her boyfriend who is currently in custody.

Mayor Masango George Manyike expressed his deepest concerns over the increasing number of gender-based violence (GBV) cases in the local municipality.
Manyike has since pleaded with the justice system to ensure they bring to book all those involved in cases of abuse and the murder of women and children.
Manyike said it is sad that today women and children do not feel safe around men.
The deceased was still a learner in Cyferskuil.
"This gender-based violence cannot be tolerated anymore," Manyike said. "We call upon our justice system to ensure they bring to book all [those] involved in cases of abuse and killing of women and children. it is sad that today women and children do not feel safe in our hands. This has to come to an end."
The alleged killer appeared in the Temba Magistrate's Court in connection with the murder and kidnapping of Monyama.
