At least three people have been taken to hospital following a bus accident on Friday 27 January 2023 on the N1 highway outside Bloemfontein.
According to the Free State Emergency Medical Services spokesperson, Sipho Towa, the bus overturned this morning at around 05:50. He says three patients with moderate to minor injuries were transported to the National Hospital in Bloemfontein.
Towa has since urged motorists to be cautious as they pass the Engen 1 Stop on the N1 in a northern direction, which is followed by a curve where the bus overturned.
One lane has been closed to traffic. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
