Blackouts expected in parts of Free State municipality─── 06:11 Sat, 14 Jan 2023
Some parts of the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality in the Free State are expected to be without electricity over the weekend.
This is because the Greenland substation is undergoing major repairs and maintenance.
The affected areas are Tshiame A, B, C, and D. Magolokoeng and the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will also be affected.
According to the municipal spokesperson, Thabo Kessah, residents can expect to be without electricity from 06:00 on Saturday, 14 January 2023. He says electricity will only be back on Tuesday, 17 January 2023.
Kessah advises residents to treat all connections as live during this time.
He apologises for the inconvenience caused.
Meanwhile, Eskom's spokesperson, Stefanie Jansen van Rensburg, says the power utility is not part of the repairs.
