Free State traffic officers protest─── HEIDRÈ MALGAS 17:07 Thu, 14 Jul 2022
Traffic officers in the Free State are unhappy, and embarked on a peaceful protest on Thursday expressing their frustration in front of OR Tambo House in St Andrews Street, Bloemfontein, where the Office of the Free State Premier is situated.
According to Mongesi Bonasi, a traffic officer, they have been struggling with basic benefits.
He claims some of them do not have uniforms, and they have reportedly been struggling to get their overtime payment.
He further added that those in senior positions presumably do not take them into consideration.
Joseph Mothosola spoke to OFM News after the traffic officers convoyed back to the Free State Lengau Testing and Traffic Centre.
He said they submitted a memorandum to the Office of the Premier, giving her 14 days to respond, and threatening similar, intensified action, should her office fail to do so.
