MSDF: Metro budget doesn’t address residents' needs─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 11:19 Sat, 04 Jun 2022
The leader of the Mangaung Service Delivery Forum says that the Metro’s budget does not speak to the needs of residents.
This followed after the council budget was tabled by Mayor Mxolisi Siyinzana yesterday in the Mangaung City Hall in Bloemfontein, Free State.
MSDF leader Potso Motoko said that he was not surprised by the budget delivered, as residents’ input was not taken into consideration once again.
He expressed his frustration with poor service delivery, which was not addressed in the metro budget.
"We are not impressed with this speech because it's not speaking to the people. There are necessary issues that need to be addressed. There are no roads in areas of our locations. People need things that are critical, including the eradication of the bucket system. He [Metro Mayor, Mxolisi Siyonzana] is not talking about it, so the bucket system is not relevant? The public participation was not done properly," adds Motoko.

Meanwhile the budget vote was initially postponed due to fear of disruptions.
This followed after the pressure group, Mangaung Concerned Community (MCC), expressed their concerns over how the budget allegedly did not have the community’s input.
