Factions and infighting source of chaos in Mangaung: NCOP─── LUCKY NKUYANE 11:38 Sun, 03 Apr 2022
Political factions and infighting have been identified as factors derailing the troubled Bloemfontein-based Mangaung Metro.
The National Council of Provinces’ (NCOP) permanent delegate from the Free State, Itumeleng Ntsube, says the current situation at the Metro is due to people longing for power.
Ntsube’s statement follows after Members of Parliament (MPs) unanimously called for serious measures to be taken against the ailing Metro.

The Metro and other troubled Free State municipalities, like Kopanong and Matjhabeng, appeared before the NCOP sitting this week.

Ntsube had quite strong words for the Metro.
He labelled the metro as an institution that thinks it’s some sort of “superman municipality”.
Ntsube said this was not the first time the Metro disrespected the NCOP.
He said in 2020, the metro did the same as it did this year.
