The police in the Free State have arrested ten suspects, aged between 25 and 59, in connection with railway track parts that were allegedly stolen near Vrede.
Free State Hawks spokesperson, Christopher Singo, alleges that on Thursday, police received information about the tempering of infrastructure at Ascent Road near Vrede.
He says that when police arrived at Klipfontein Farm they found suspects offloading the railway track parts from a trailer.
Singo told OFM News that preliminary investigations established that the track parts were removed from a railway line on the farm.
He further adds that after the arrest of suspects, the case was handed over to the Hawks for further investigations. The suspects will appear in court soon.
