Mangaung Metro employees to be paid─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 11:15 Sat, 12 Mar 2022
The first metro in South Africa to be placed under administration – the Mangaung Metro Municipality - has promised to pay its employees by Monday 14 March.
The promise follows in the wake of more than 150 irate metro employees that barred access to the metro headquarters, the Bram Fischer building, on Friday.
This, after not receiving their February salaries.
In January employees only received half their compensation.

This includes the fact that proper recruitment processes in hiring them were never followed.
They have advised the municipality to always follow correct recruitment processes when hiring any staff.
“Even if people are in political offices, they still have to follow a recruitment process. Some of the people are just appointed without the post being advertised. Even if a politician wants to appoint a Personal Assistant (PA) in the office, a recruitment process must always be followed” Duma said.
