#BreakingNews: Centlec to switch off government and business buildings─── LUCKY NKUYANE 09:00 Wed, 02 Mar 2022
The Mangaung Metro Municipality's power utility, Centlec, is on Wednesday on a drive to disconnect key government and big business buildings in Bloemfontein from its power grid.
Centlec spokesperson, Lele Mamatu, confirms to OFM News that a team of officials have been sent to various departments to switch off power. This is due to millions of rands owed to the power utility.
Government buildings that will be affected by the switch-off drive, includes the OR Tambo building which houses the Premier’s Office of Sisi Ntombela and the Department of Treasury, amongst others.
OFM News previously reported that the Metro also this week announced that it will start its drive to recoup close to R8 billion owed to the metro by defaulting consumers.
