#BreakingNews: Hostile takeover reported at Pacofs─── 10:43 Mon, 25 Oct 2021
Irate members of the Mangaung Concerned Community (MCC) on Monday morning took over the Performing Arts Centre of the Free State (Pacofs) and evicted workers.
The MCC members forcibly gained entry to the Bloemfontein building and brought the operations to a halt following complaints of alleged maladministration, bullying, and sexual harassment at the embattled facility. The MCC's Donald Constable tells OFM News that their action was necessitated by the refusal of the CFO to engage with the group over these allegations. Constable says the CFO has displayed arrogance by refusing to come to the table and amicably find solutions to what he terms as troubling developments at the performing arts centre.
OFM News' Olebogeng Motse previously reported that among other allegations Constable raised, were allegations that centred around the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sharon Snell, who is allegedly occupying both the role of acting Pacofs CEO as well as that of the head of the National Museum in Bloemfontein.
Constable has called for an investigation into the conduct of the Pacofs management.
On Friday morning, the group attempted to forcibly gain entry into the Bloemfontein building in an effort to bring operations to a standstill, and make their grievances known.

Constable tells OFM News that despite sexual harassment charges laid against a senior manager, the latter continues to work as normal.
He says they see this as a blatant display of arrogance and they will not tolerate such. OFM News reports that scores of police officials were seen at the scene but left the premises after a short engagement with Constable and the group.
Constable denies that their conduct was violent and says they merely wanted to engage with the management, who was found not to be in the building. Pacofs employees have since dispersed after the takeover of the MCC.
Artists, who staged a sit-in at Pacofs in March and April 2021, reportedly remain aggrieved nearly seven months since their demonstration.
