#VaccinateFS: Over 30 000 Education personnel up for #Covid19 jab─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 10:31 Wed, 23 Jun 2021
A total of 32 000 education personnel in the Free State are expected to be vaccinated against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Education MEC Tate Makgoe tells OFM News this includes teaching and non-teaching personnel. He says about 26 000 of this total are educators. Makgoe says all plans have been put in place to ensure that education personnel is vaccinated before the end of the term as announced by Education Minister, Angie Motshekga.
Motshekga this past Sunday told South Africans that the vaccination of educators will commence on Wednesday and continue until July 8. Motshekga said 582 000 people countrywide are expected to be vaccinated over 10 to 14 days.
Speaking to OFM News at the Gonyane Primary School in Mangaung, where Makgoe himself just got vaccinated, he confirmed the province is ready to administer the vaccination of all education staff.
