Kimberley faces water cuts─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 06:49 Tue, 01 Sep 2020

Residents of the Northern Cape capital, Kimberley, have been warned to brace themselves for a total water shutdown on Tuesday.
This, after the Sol Plaatje Municipality confirmed that there is a planned water supply interruption as of this morning.
Municipal spokesperson, Sello Matsie, says in a statement that the water interruptions will be introduced as of this morning to enable emergency repairs to water infrastructure.
He says the city has been experiencing serious water loss on the 965 pipeline next to the Roodepan area, and this has led to a drop in reservoir levels despite pumping at full capacity.
He warns communities that the repairs will leave the city without water until water supply is restored.
Matsie anticipates that the municipality will be done with emergency repairs later this evening.
