NC premier pays tribute to Jack─── MARVIN NTSANE 12:30 Sun, 16 Aug 2020
The Premier of the Northern Cape, Zamani Saul, says the late provincial Education MEC, Mac Jack, was an honest man.
This, as Saul was delivering the eulogy at Jack's funeral in his hometown, Graaff-Reinet, in the Eastern Cape this morning.
Saul described Jack to be a man that always wanted unity to prevail in the Northern Cape government.
He said this was evident when Jack was stationed in the Pixley Ka Seme District for 15 years, where he held various positions, including that of the chairperson, secretary and treasurer.
Saul added that Jack was more than a comrade to him. He says Jack was like a brother, not only to him, but to many others in the province.
He announced Jack's death on Wednesday evening after the 55-year-old succumbed to coronavirus-related complications. His death comes a week after he was hospitalised at the Mediclinic hospital in Kimberley.
Jack served in the Northern Cape as a Member of the Provincial Legislature; MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison; MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism; MEC for Health, and MEC for Education.
