NW Education MEC to monitor deep-cleaning of 33 schools─── MARVIN NTSANE 10:43 Tue, 26 May 2020
With the state of schools' readiness in the spotlight, the North West Education MEC, Mmaphefo Matsemela, will be in Rustenburg to confirm the state of readiness of schools on Tuesday.
It is expected that grade 7 and 12 learners will be back at school next week after the Minister of Education, Angie Motshekga, announced a phased out returning of learners to school to save this academic year.
The provincial department spokesperson, Elias Malindi, says Matsemela will be visiting the Kutlwanong School for the Deaf and the Platinum Village Secondary School which will be presenting its first Grade 12 class this year, amongst other schools.
Malindi adds that the Impala Platinum Mine has made a pledge of deep cleaning 33 schools in the Bojanala district. He says Matsemela will also be receiving these pledges. He says Matsemela commenced monitoring schools progress in Mafikeng in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District yesterday.
