The Pick n Pay supermarket at Northridge Mall in Bloemfontein in the Free State has confirmed that the death of a staff member during trading hours yesterday, 26 April 2020 is not linked to Covid-19.
The spokesperson of Northridge Mall, Leon Grey, says the deceased suffered an asthma attack which resulted in his death.
He says the deceased have been suffering from asthma for a long time.
The incident led to the store being closed immediately yesterday afternoon but was opened again this morning .
"The incident was sad and unforeseen", he said.
The management of Northridge Mall has offered its condolences to the staff members, family and friends of the deceased.
