Mutwa to receive an official provincial funeral─── MARVIN NTSANE 10:02 Thu, 26 Mar 2020
The premier of the Northern Cape, Zamani Saul, says he will make an application for a Provincial Official funeral for Credo Mutwa.
This, after Mutwa, a Zulu sangoma and known author of books that draw upon African mythology, traditional Zulu folklore, and extra-terrestrial encounters, passed away yesterday.
Mutwa was ninety-eight years old. He was referred to as a Sanusi - the highest level of a traditional healer.
News of his passing was confirmed by the Credo Mutwa Foundation.
Mutwa died in the Kuruman Hospital in the Northern Cape. The foundation says he had been in and out of hospital due to his advanced age.
Saul says he is saddened by Mutwa’s passing. He further says "Uncle Credo Mutwa" played a large role in both the liberation and development of South Africa.
