NW man accused of killing girlfriend, to spend Christmas in jail─── LUCKY NKUYANE 05:52 Thu, 05 Dec 2019
A 19-year-old suspect, Karabo Bahurutshe, who stands accused of the alleged brutal murder of 18-year-old Gomolemo Legae at Ramosadi village, outside Mahikeng in North West, will remain in custody until 2020.
This follows after he appeared before the Mmabatho Local Magistrate's Court yesterday, where his bail application was postponed to February 21 of next year.
His court appearance follows after his arrest on Monday, after his brother handed him over to police following the murder of Legae in the early hours of Sunday.
He is alleged to have raped and stabbed Legae at least 25 times, after which he doused her with petrol before setting her alight.
The gruesome murder has drawn much criticism, especially as it comes amidst the 16 days of Activism against Gender-based Violence.
