REPORT: Explosion in Welkom; pictures emerge─── MJ LOURENS 20:27 Sat, 21 Mar 2015
Bloemfontein - At approximately 17:30 Saturday there was a big explosion in Welkom damaging cars, homes and was felt many kilometres away. These are images received from listeners and are their accounts.
Netwerk24 earlier reported that police thought the explosion was caused when an Eskom substation blew up, however, police later told Netwerk24 that it was in fact a methane explosion.

The explosion was felt and heard in Riebeeckstad and Odendaalsrus.
