Ventersdorp - One person was killed and nine injured when a bakkie overturned in Ventersdorp, North West, paramedics said on Sunday.
"Paramedics from ER24 West Rand arrived on the scene and found the occupants of the vehicle scattered around the vehicle," ER24's Werner Vermaak said.
"One person was found with fatal injuries. There was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene."
The other nine people sustained fractures and cuts. They were taken to Leratong Hospital after being stabilised by paramedics.
"It is understood that majority of the people were sitting on the back of the vehicle when it overturned."
The cause of the accident was not known.
