NW ANC wants law to run its course after MEC arrested for murder | News Article
The North West ANC has called for the law to run its course following the arrest of local government MEC China Dodovu on a murder charge. Party spokesperson Kenny Morolong said in a statement the provincial executive committee (PEC) believes in the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, but also that no one is above the law. Dodovu was arrested during a PEC meeting yesterday. This was in connection with the murder of ANC regional secretary Obuti Chika, who was shot dead in the driveway of his Klerksdorp home on December 14. Dodovu is the eight person to be arrested in connection with the murder. The others include North West ANC Youth League chairperson, Papiki Baboile, ward secretary Paul Molomonyane, councillor Itumeleng Molebatsi, and municipal worker William Malefo. Chika was the regional secretary of the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district at the time of his death. Hawks spokesperson, Paul Ramoloko says Dodovu will likely be tried together with the seven other suspects:
