Thaba Nchu - Trouble is brewing between the reigning chieftain in Thaba Nchu and members of the Khuduthamga Barolong Boo Seleka traditional council over a deserted cultural centre which has become a white elephant.
Chieftain Gao Moroka took over after the death of her husband and children. The traditional clan’s secretary Kenosi Mojanaga says the cultural centre has never been in operation since construction was partially completed in 2009.
He says they have requested a meeting between the Free State Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Olly Mlamleli and the current reigning family.
Mojanaga claims that the late Thaba Nchu Chief Albert Moroka was a descendant of an alleged adopted Moroka son and his entire reigning generation does not have the rightful royal blood to be heirs.
