Qwaqwa residents are expecting 5,000 water tanks on Thursday.
It's one of the promises made by the Department of Water and Sanitation.
Residents, however, took to the streets again following the announcement of the water tanks.
They've rejected the tanks, saying they just want running water in their taps citing the long distance to travel as only one of the factors making this plan unsustainable.
The residents say the problem has been ongoing for years and the municipality must take urgent action.
