The national football team Bafana Bafana have arrived in Brazzaville for the return leg of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo Brazzaville.

South Africa is in a strong position in Group K to qualify for next year’s continental showpiece after a clinical 5-0 win against Congo in Gqeberha on Friday.

Next month Bafana will face Uganda away and South Sudan at home, and a win on Tuesday night will take some pressure off those games. There will be some added pressure on South Africa as Uganda beat South Sudan 1-0 on the weekend.

Broos said it’s important for his team to finish the job on Tuesday night and this will make it easier in their last two qualifiers in November.

“We will try to achieve six-from-six and come back from Congo with qualification,” said Broos.

“It will be a different game certainly on a different pitch also, so we’ll see, but if we do the same performance as we did, we can win and achieve that.”

‘I have a fantastic group and the mentality is fantastic’

Broos also lauded the effort of his team and added that while he is proud of what they did on Friday, it’s important to move on from that game and make sure that they complete the task at hand.

“You know we’ve been working together for many months, years, everyone is happy with everybody. I have a fantastic group and the mentality is fantastic. The quality is there also. On Tuesday it’s another match and we have to forget about the 5-0 win.

Tuesday night’s qualifier at the Alphonse Massamba-Debat Stadium in Brazzaville kicks off at 18:00.
