Gallants claim first win in the PSL─── MORGAN PIEK 11:41 Sun, 29 Sep 2024
“Marumo Gallants managed to break the deadlock early in the game.”
The Bloemfontein-based Premier Soccer League club, Marumo Gallants, recorded their first win and points of the season on Saturday evening.
Gallants beat the much-more fancied opponents, AmaZulu, 1-0 at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein for the victory.
In their three previous outings in the PS, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa suffered defeats at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs, Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Gallants managed to break the deadlock early in the game when the Zimbabwean international, Daniel Msendami, managed to beat the keeper from a tight angle to announce himself to South African football. This was also enough to earn him the man of the match award.
The win pushed Gallants up to 14th on the log, while the visitors from Durban, Usuthu, dropped down to 16th and they remain winless.
