It's do-or-die for the Leopards─── MORGAN PIEK 08:34 Fri, 12 Jul 2024
“It's going to be a tough game, and it's going to be a game of wills. It's going to be a game of which team backs themselves more in the day.”
It’s do-or-die for the Leopards tomorrow when they host the South Western Districts Eagles in Potchefstroom in the Currie Cup First Division.
The match is a must-win game for both teams in order to ensure that they reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
The Leopards are looking to rebound from their heavy 71-7 defeat at the hands of the Boland Cavaliers in Wellington last week.
The Leopards coach, Matthew Proudfoot, told OFM Sport that Saturday’s match is effectively a quarter-final and it’s important to play the game the way they do.
“We've emphasized playing the way we play, and that's also been why I've selected the bench I have,” said Proudfoot.
“The way we've selected the bench is to get a foothold in the game, we've then got to push that for 80- 90 minutes through the game because they're not going to go away.
“They're also playing for a semi -final spot.
“It's going to be a tough game, and it's going to be a game of wills. It's going to be a game of which team backs themselves more in the day.”
Saturday’s crunch match at Olën Park kicks off at 15:00.
