Mthethwa who is the head coach of the Central University of Technology as well one signed a short-term contract with the 2022 Currie Cup finalists.

The Griquas indicated that the astute coach will not be extending his contract and he will continue to focus on the CUT Ixias

“Griquas attack coach Melusi Mthethwa will not be extending his stay in Kimberley.

Melusi, who signed a short term contract with the team last year until the conclusion of this year’s Currie Cup will continue on as Head Coach for CUT who he coached simultaneously this year in the Varsity Cup.

“Melusi definitely brought a new dimension to our attack this year and it is unfortunate to not have him build on all the hard work put in this year. 

“However, in the modern game to coach 2 teams the same time is very difficult and probably not ideal. We wish him all the best and thank him for his great contribution to the team,” said CEO Arni van Rooyen.

Recently the Forwards coach, Barend Pieterse, also bid farewell to the union in order to spend more time with this family.
