The 32-year-old Bloemfontein-born Reinach has been named on the Springboks bench for the match, while Faf de Klerk will be starting in the number 9 jersey.

Reinach plays his rugby for Montpellier in France and will have a good understanding of the conditions and the players.

Nienaber said that they are blessed to have good scrumhalves in the squad and Reinach has a knack of putting in big performances when it matters most.

“A guy like Cobus Reinach will also bring a different dimension to our attack, and it is a bonus that he knows the conditions in France and has also played with some of their players.

I really thought that Faf de Klerk brought some energy when he came on in the second half.

“Cobus probably knows the players quite well and all know how exciting he can be.

“If you think back at the World Cup and also the in the British & Irish Lions series, where we lost Faf, Cobus put in some big performances for us to win those games.”

Saturday's Test at the Stade Velodrome kicks off at 22:00.
