NWU Eagles focus on finishing a game─── MORGAN PIEK 13:24 Mon, 07 Mar 2022
The North West University Eagles will be targeting an 80-minute performance this evening when they face Tuks in Potchefstroom in round four of the Varsity Cup.
Last when the Eagles were well on their way to beating UJ, before the Orange Army scored 35 unanswered points in the second have to beat the team from Potch 35-14.
Tuks head to Potchefstroom as the defending champions and will no doubt pose a serious threat to the Eagles.
The Eagles coach, André Pretorius, told OFM Sport that they know what is required tonight.
“There is defiantly a big emphasis on 'finish the game the way we start it' ”, said the former Springbok and Lions flyhalf.
“Most of it is the mentality within that game that we need to improve. That has a big impact on the way that we approach the second, third, and fourth 20-minute battles.
“Their self-belief is definitely still there.”
Kick-off at the Fanie du Toit Sports Ground is at 19:00. At the same time, Wits will host the Shimlas in Johannesburg, while the Madibaz are currently in action against the Ixias in Gqeberha.
