#N3 near Harrismith cleared for traffic─── 05:51 Wed, 27 Oct 2021

All lanes on the N3 near Harrismith are open, with the N3 Toll Concession saying in the early hours of Wednesday morning that flow of traffic has been restored.
OFM News previously reported motorists using the N3 had been urged to delay their trips as protesting truck drivers blocked the busy national road.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate's Zinhle Mali said at one stage the alternative route between Durban and Johannesburg was also inaccessible.

Free State police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, previously told OFM News just before midnight on Monday, the group of 30 drivers lined up their trucks in such a manner that the N3 near the Montrose Fuel Station over 20kms outside Harrismith was completely cordoned off.
Makhele says, as a result, traffic ended up being lined up for a kilometer in both directions of the demonstration. The bone of contention here is again the recruitment of foreign nationals as truck drivers.
