Harrismith - Police are maintaining a strong presence at Intabazwe township near Harrismith in the eastern Free State. Police spokesperson, Tseko Mokgahle, says protesters again tried to barricade roads with burning tyres last night. But he says police managed to disperse the crowd. Meanwhile, 29 of the 36 people who appeared in the Harrismith Magistrate Court on charges of public violence yesterday will remain in custody until their next court appearance on Tuesday. Mokgahle says the other seven were released as they are juveniles. Residents say they are unhappy with the rendering of basic services by the Maluti A Phofung municipality.
