Boxing promoter vows to honour Mandela─── 16:31 Mon, 16 Jul 2018

An epic centenary night of boxing in Mangaung promises to honour the late statesman, Nelson “Rolihlahla” Mandela.
The Dream Team boxing promotion organisation’s Lebo Mahoko told OFM News that they felt the need to host the event to highlight the importance that Mandela played in black communities through this sport.
Mahoko explained to OFM News why the games will be held on the 27th, saying this is the power of the number representing the years Madiba spent in prison during his stay on Robben Island.
The main event of this celebration will be the IBF title between Mziwoxolo Ndwayana and Ali Funeka. The females taking part in this festival are Melissa and Sindiswa Ncube.
Included in the day’s lineup in the featherweight non-title (8 rounds), Thembani Mabangatha, will go toe-to-toe with Prince Ndlovu while Saul Hlongwe is set to exchange blows with the world champion Doctor Ntsele on the junior featherweight non-title. The fight of the evening will see Zolili Miya taking Fikile Mlongeni on the Flyweight non-title (6 rounds).
This boxing event will be held at the Mangaung Indoor Sports Centre from 6pm on 27 July.
