Protesters torch Rustenburg mayor's house─── 16:08 Wed, 23 May 2018
Protesters set the house of Rustenburg Mayor Mpho Khunou alight on Wednesday afternoon, North West police have said.
"In the morning, there was a service delivery protest where they blocked the roads with burning tyres and objects," police spokesperson Sergeant Ofentse Mokgabi said.
Mokgabi said they had also torched a guesthouse and one car.
He said their demands were not known.
"The fire at the mayor's has been extinguished. I can't immediately confirm the damage."
