Malema due in Free State court today─── MARK STEENBOK 06:18 Fri, 06 Apr 2018

The matter against the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, who is accused of contravening the 1956 Riotous Assemblies Act, is expected back in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court today.
The case against Malema was postponed in October last year, after he called on supporters to occupy unoccupied land on December 16, 2014. He made similar remarks in Newcastle in KwaZulu Natal in June that year, during the party's freedom charter rally.
National Prosecuting Authorities (NPA) spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, says Malema’s defence is currently challenging the constitutionality of the act.
