The six pupils who were arrested in connection with the murder of a 34-year-old man is expected to appear in the Sasolburg Magistrate's Court on March 7 again.
Police spokesperson, Jospehine Rani, says it is alleged that the suspects between the ages of 18 and 20 allegedly stabbed the deceased outside his house on February 16. He died on the scene.
Rani confirmed that the incident was not gang-related. She says the suspects already appeared in court on a charge of murder.
“The deceased's brother alleges that on Friday, February 16 at about 21:00, he was walking home from work when he was chased by a group of unknown males and managed to out-run them. He ran into his home, where the deceased was standing outside the house. Seeing that they could not get hold of the fleeing brother, the suspects turned to his brother who was standing outside, grabbed and dragged him from his yard into the street where he was stabbed to death,” says Rani.
