PICTURE GALLERY: Hundreds gather for #BlackMonday─── JOSCA HUMAN 08:00 Mon, 30 Oct 2017
Various protests and gatherings are taking place across South Africa today against farm murders.
In Bloemfontein farmers and other interested parties started gathering at 07:00 opposite the fuel station at the Windmill Casino on the Jagersfontein Road to join a convoy of vehicles that will drive on the N1 in protest against farm murders.
Organiser, Frikkie van der Walt, appeals to people to wear black in support of Black Monday.
They must carry white crosses and be visible with banners indicating farm murders must stop. No pedestrians are allowed to participate. People can, however, sit at the back of bakkies.
There will be time for prayer at 08:00 before the convoy proceeds with police escort onto the N1 in the direction of Gauteng. It will proceed up to the Nelson Mandela off-ramp where it will turn around and travel back on the N1 in the direction of Cape Town.
Pending on the time the route will be used repeatedly up until a memorandum is expected to be handed to police at 11:00.
