Bloemfontein - The wife of acting judge Patrick Ntobeko, who was found dead in 2009 in his Bantry Bay home, is appealing today against her sentence and conviction in the Bloemfontein Court of Appeal.

Thandi Maqubela was found guilty of the murder of her estranged husband in 2015.

She is serving an 18 year sentence. OFM News' Mark Steenbok reports Maqubela's legal representative earlier this morning argued that the state could not prove at the time that Ntobeko died of natural causes.

Maqubela wants to assert that she was not lawfully convicted.

Questions were also raised about Maqubela's behaviour after the murder took place.

Judgement in the matter has been reserved and court has been adjourned.
