Kimberley golf estate raises record amount for Cansa─── 10:28 Thu, 05 May 2016

Kimberley - The Magersfontein Memorial Golf Estate raised R350 000 for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) during its club qualifiers for the Sanlam Cancer Challenge.
A total of 120 players took part in the fundraiser, which was sold out within the first two weeks of registration.
Co-coordinator, Lizanne van Niekerk, says their figures have doubled each year. She says she is happy to have been part of the initiative for a third year running.
Thys Streicher, also known as Thys die Bosveldklong, auctioned off paintings and wine which contributed to a large share of the final amount raised. The Golf Estate raised R61 506 in 2014 and R141 140 the following year.
The golf challenge is aimed at creating awareness and raising funds for Cansa.
Regional finals will take place in Upington on August 13 and the finals will be held at Sun City on 10 and 11 October.
